The great attraction of La Fresneda campsite is its location, in the so-called ” Spanish Tuscany “. Its surroundings  offer the opportunity to connect with nature, in a peaceful environment surrounded by mountainous landscapes and crystal-clear rivers. What more could you ask for?

To give you a better idea of ​​what it’s like, it’s a space located in a beautiful valley with panoramic views of the  Puertos de Beceite. It’s not too big, but it has 24 plots where you can enjoy another of its strong points: tranquility. 

On the other hand, there’s no shortage of services, such as a bar-restaurant, a paddle tennis court, and even a zip line… However, there are some things to consider before staying:

• It is a rural space, despite its beauty, it is still rugged and you must prepare for that.
• Pets are not allowed. Please leave your furry friends at home.
• The plots are not fixed and there is no swimming pool.
• Large groups will not be allowed. This way, peace and quiet can be maintained and other users can be respected. 
• In July and August the prices are 34 euros per night for two people, and the rest of the months they are 27 euros.
• This price includes the vehicle, the tent, the electricity supply and the Internet connection. 
• If you plan a stay of 7 nights or more, you can get a price of 22 euros, but it only applies for months such as April, May, June and September. 

The village of La Fresneda, a charming place

Now that you know a little more about the campsite, it wouldn’t hurt to discover the village of La Fresneda . It is a town declared  a Historic-Artistic Site in 1983 , whose origins date back to the Bronze Age , in the second millennium BC.

Located on a hill, in its streets you can enjoy some architectural wonders from different eras, which we show you below.

• Parish Church of Santa María la Mayor : this temple is the best known in the area and is a 17th century structure with baroque art.
• Ruins of the Calatrava Castle Fortress: This is an Arab fortress that does not go unnoticed by tourists.
• Hermitage of Santa Bárbara: its construction took place in several stages and periods, gaining great importance in the 17th century.
• Arch of the Villa or Portal of Xifré: it is an ancient gate that was part of a wall and gave entrance to the town. 
• The Cross and the Cross of Codolar : there are two crosses, the first is a baroque one from the 18th century and the second is a very popular Gothic cross.
• Convent of the Virgen de Gracia:  they still tell the story of its foundation and how it worked, but today it is a hotel complex.
• Pilar Chapel : a chapel built in the 17th century
• Calle Mayor: one of the most well-known spaces in the town and with deep cultural and historical roots. 
• Town Hall Building:  It has Gothic and Renaissance architecture, was built in the 16th century and is very striking.
