The Zaragoza Luce Festival will land in Zaragoza in February 2025. It is a global artistic movement that turns capitals into lighting museums.
The Light Festival network was born in the 90s and is celebrated in European cities such as Lyon, Frankfurt or Brussels . Now, Zaragoza will join this network . In this festival, the light installations each have a message, a story, represent the concerns and values of an artist, and transform the streets into a light art gallery. This international event will transform the streets and monuments of Zaragoza with technology and light and will capture citizens and visitors in a 100% immersive experience.
“We are working to ensure that Zaragoza joins the prestigious network of Light Festivals, which was founded in the 1990s and is celebrated in other European cities such as Lyon, Frankfurt, Brussels, Lisbon, Tallinn, Eindhoven and Turin,” said Chueca, who praised the high “economic and reputational impact” that this will have on the capital of Aragon.
On the other hand, according to Chueca, the Zaragoza City Culture Award will be created , which has as its main objective to recognize the work of individuals or legal entities in the world of culture in the capital and its surroundings, promoting both local talent and its national and international projection. The first edition would be held in 2025, recognizing merits throughout this year. “Zaragoza is a two-thousand-year-old city, rich in heritage, talent, and cultural manifestations in all disciplines,” recalled the mayor after announcing the creation of this award.
