From the fight between Nick Fury and Mysterio with Belchite as the setting in “Spiderman, far from home” to Ridley Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven” in Loarre or the third installment of the antihero Venom that was filmed in March in the Tena Valley . There are many corners of Aragon that have served as a set for major productions over the years thanks to a territory where you can find an arid desert, snowy mountains or abandoned villages. Summer is also the time for filming and the Aragón Film Commission has announced two new ones that will not leave you indifferent.
The first of them is one of the series of the year, a saga with a zombie apocalypse, survivors and a fight. In fact, it is “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” which in its third season will land in a good handful of places in Spain, including Aragon. At the moment, it is still to be seen in which settings it will be set in our territory although the production company has already announced that they were looking for “amazing landscapes”.
The series is based on the character of “The Walking Dead” and is the sixth television series of the eponymous franchise. A series that, according to its producer, has a large legion of fans in Spain and that is why they have chosen the territory to film some of those apocalyptic landscapes and scenes.
A NEW TEEN SERIES FROM NETFLIX
Changing the subject, an “iconic space” in the Aragonese Pyrenees will be the main setting for “Olympus”, the new series for teenagers from the giant Netflix that could become the new “Élite”. Everything points to the ideal location being Panticosa , since as announced by the Aragón Film Commission, they were looking for sports boys and girls to appear in a series that is, in fact, about athletes.
With a young cast (Clara Galle, Nira Osahia, Agustín Della Corte, Nuno Gallego, María Romanillos and Martí Cordero, among others), the series places the viewer in the CAR Pirineos , a centre where the best athletes in the country train. Amaia, the captain of the national artistic swimming team, is a demanding girl who does not allow herself to make mistakes until one day she is surpassed by Núria. Then, the protagonist realises that some athletes are inexplicably improving their performance.
According to casting that began in July, the series will be shot at this location over several weeks between September and November.
