MORE THAN 75,000 PEOPLE HAVE VISITED THE GOYA MUSEUM THIS YEAR
Since the beginning of the year, the Fundación Ibercaja space has received more than 75,000 visitors who, in addition to this exhibition and the “Azul. Colección Abelló” exhibition, which ended in January, have been able to enjoy the Goya Museum’s great permanent collection, to which 7 new works by Goya have recently been added, making it the second museum with the most pictorial work by Francisco de Goya in the world, only behind the Prado Museum.
For the next academic year, various cultural events will be held at the Museum, such as the exclusive piano recital, “Sorolla, a universal imaginary”, which will take place on 9 September. It will be a concert in tribute to Sorolla with music by his contemporaries and the later generation: Albéniz, Granados, Falla, Turina, Esplá, Mompou and Rodrigo, and a selection of pieces related to the main themes of his work, such as portraits, scenes of children, beach and port scenes, and his passion for Andalusia.
The Ibercaja Foundation, committed to bringing art and culture to society as a whole, offers with this exhibition a unique opportunity in Zaragoza to discover the work of Joaquín Sorolla, one of the great masters of art on a universal level, and to get closer to his incomparable light and the Mediterranean Sea.
