The damage caused by the strong storms that fell this past weekend after the passage of the DANA in a good part of the Aragonese Pyrenees, have also left several rescues by the Civil Guard of Huesca. More than one hiker has been isolated by the collapse of several bridges in Bielsa that dragged the rise of the Barrosa river. The breakage of the forest track of Bestué, in Puértolas, or the psychological blockage of some mountaineers
Orós Bajo have also required the intervention of agents of the Greim of Boltaña or Panticosa.

The first consequences of the heavy rains and overflowing of rivers in the Pyrenees were suffered at the point of the afternoon of last Saturday, September 7. A hiker communicated to the 112 SOS Aragón that he was isolated because of the rise of the Barrosa river, after the Acirón bridge was destroyed by the force of the water. Since this was the area of the village of Parzán, in Bielsa, it was the Greim de Boltaña unit that flew over the area and rescued this 24-year-old French mountaineer.

Shortly afterwards, a new alert was issued stating that two hikers were isolated after the flooding in the ravine and the breaking of the forest track from Bestué to Plana Canal, in the municipality of Puértolas. The Greim de Boltaña was activated and the Civil Guard found that they were two people from the Netherlands, who after being transferred to Benasque, left on their own.

On the same day, the stumbling of two hikers from Terrassa near the Orós Bajo waterfall caused them to have a psychological block that prevented them from leaving the situation. Thanks to the Greim de Panticosa, they were evacuated and taken to a safe area. The person was a 31-year-old mother with her 13-year-old son.

POOR ROUTE PLANNING, TRIPPING OR FALLING INTO A DROP

Due to poor route planning, at around 8:00 pm on Saturday, a hiker from Valencia had to be rescued due to exhaustion near the Ibón de Arriel Alto, in Sallent de Gállego. After locating the hiker unharmed, and a night walk of almost 8 hours, he was accompanied to the Sarra Reservoir.

Last Sunday, the Greim de Jaca rescued a mountain runner who had fallen in the area of the Iserías cabin, in Canfranc, after flying over the area and locating him. With a dislocated shoulder, the injured man was transferred by helicopter to the Somport tunnel, where an ambulance was waiting to be taken to the Jaca Hospital.

Likewise, the Greim de Jaca rescued a resident of the same town shortly after when he stumbled near the area of the Izas Canal, near Canfranc. With a sprained ankle, this 56-year-old man had to be evacuated and transferred by plane.

The last warning of the weekend occurred yesterday at around 18.30 hours, when two mountaineers fell into a chasm in the area of Mesa de los Tres Reyes, near the border with Sallent de Gállego. Both injured and unable to determine the extent of their injuries, they were rescued by the Greim de Jaca, the Air Unit of Huesca and the 061.
