Mowi, a company dedicated to salmon farming since 1964, has opened its renovated production plant in  Zaragoza. This project is part of the company’s growth strategy in the Iberian market and aims to boost
production capacity and optimize processes, reaching 150 workers.

The renovation underlines Mowi ‘s commitment to operational optimisation and its ability to meet the growing demand for fresh salmon. The new factory is equipped to process bulk fish and products packaged in a protective atmosphere (MAP). This modernisation strengthens Mowi ‘s offer for the professional market in
Spain and Portugal and, within its commercial plan, allows the company to orient its offer towards the
fishmonger channel, a key sector for its strategic growth.

In addition to the increase in production capacity, the improvements have had a notable impact on efficiency and operational processes by centralizing all operations in a single space. José Antonio Merodio, Production Manager Iberia of the company, has highlighted the “ pride ” of the improvements implemented in this new plant. “We have made a significant investment in technology and machinery, which will allow us to be more efficient and optimize our processes to offer products of the highest quality to our customers more effectively , ” he said.

BET ON THE SPANISH MARKET

The new plant in Zaragoza represents a step forward in Mowi Iberia ‘s mission to lead the Iberian market in the production and distribution of fishery products, while maintaining its dedication to innovation, sustainability and quality at every stage of the process. The company is committed to the growth of the Spanish market, establishing a roadmap that will drive the development of new products and the entry into new points of sale.
