Six healthcare professionals and six other clinics from Aragon have been nominated for the Doctoralia Awards 2024. These awards seek to recognise the work of specialists and, for the first time, healthcare centres in Spain, based on the evaluations of their patients, their contribution to the community and the technical support of the platform’s medical team.

Doctoralia, a leading technology platform for managing patients, clinics and healthcare professionals, has announced the nominations for the 11th edition of its awards. The six Aragonese doctors nominated are the physiotherapist Álvaro Amesti Novellón, the dentist María Dolores Regaño Formento, the ophthalmologist Enrique Fuentemilla Manzanares, the psychiatrist Jose Carlos Fuertes Rocañin and the traumatologists Antonio Francisco Laclériga Giménez and Miguel Lizcano Palomares, all of them from Zaragoza.

This year, the awards have 549 professionals who aspire to the prize in 36 categories, three more than in the previous edition: dental hygiene, chiropractic and nursing. In addition, an extra category has been incorporated, influenza doctors, the only one with self-nomination, whose objective is to name the most relevant medical profile in the field of social networks.

In addition, for the first time since the Doctoralia Awards were created, a total of 90 clinics will compete for the award for the best of 2024 in six categories: physiotherapy and osteopathy, gynecology, aesthetic medicine, dentistry, podiatry and psychology.

This will be the first time that a physical event will be held to present the awards.

In Aragon, the nominated centres are Alba Puertolas Physiotherapy (Zaragoza), Dra. Patricia De Siqueira Clinic (Jaca), aesthetic medicine, Tello Dental Clinic (Zaragoza), Casablanca Podiatry and Health (Zaragoza), Cristina Hernández Podiatry Clinic (Zaragoza) and Ágora Psychology (Zaragoza).

In this way, Doctoralia once again breaks all participation records in these awards that reinforce collaboration between specialists and commitment to the patient community.

SELECTION PROCESS

The Doctoralia Awards have a selection criterion that is unique in the health sector. On the one hand, there are the evaluations of the patient community about their experience with the platform’s medical team. On the other hand, the professional aspect has a key weight, since the candidates are also voted for by the platform’s medical team, which adds an extra layer of impartiality and rigor to the process.

Another important variable taken into account when selecting the winners is their commitment to the patient community. Doctoralia rewards specialists who actively participate in the Ask the Expert service, a section of the platform where the medical team answers health questions that the patient community can share anonymously. Since its launch in 2014, an average of 50,000 responses have been recorded per year, a figure that demonstrates the positive impact of this initiative.

For the first time in the history of the awards, this year they will be held at a physical event where the awards will be presented. The gala will take place on November 7 and will bring together top-level professionals at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

In addition, during the evening, the Doctoralia Honorary Award will be presented, an honorary award intended to distinguish the platform’s longest-serving clients. This recognition is not decided by the usual voting system, but rather the company’s management will assign it based, in addition to seniority, on the opinions of its patients and contribution to the community.
