Aragon will create up to 3,320 jobs for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, corresponding to the upcoming 29th of November and 2nd of December. These figures represent an increase of 26.7% compared to the 2,620 of last year 2023. These forecasts have been published in the last few hours by the talent company Randstad. Sectors such as commerce, logistics and transport are taken into account.

Impulse and mass purchases have made these dates key in terms of consumption in recent years, forcing companies to increase their hiring. According to the figures, Aragon has grown by more than eight points compared to the average in Spain (18.2%). “With the arrival of Black Friday, one of the most important seasons of the year for commerce and logistics begins. This period, which traditionally marks the start of the Christmas shopping campaign, represents a key opportunity for economic growth, job creation and increased sales for many companies in all sectors,” said Jesús Fernández Lima, regional director of Temporary Employment for the North area at Randstad.

Specifically, Zaragoza will be the province that will make the most contracts with 2,680 (+19.4% compared to the previous year), followed by Huesca with more than 300 (+13%) and, finally, Teruel with 135 (+28.6%).

CONTRACTS BY SECTOR IN SPAIN

At national level, Randstad predicts that 117,000 new contracts will be created in Spain, 18.2% more than the 98,955 contracts signed in 2023. If we analyse the weight by sector, 67.5% of the contracts will be signed in transport and logistics, specifically almost 79,000. This represents a growth of 26% compared to the previous year. The trade sector represents just over 32% of the total weight of contracts, reaching more than 38,000 jobs (+4.8% compared to the previous year).

In terms of volume, Catalonia is the region with the greatest weight in hiring, representing 17.6% of the total, followed by Andalusia (17.2%) and the Community of Madrid (16.3%). These regions concentrate the majority of job opportunities that will arise during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Compared to previous years, the greatest growth is recorded in La Rioja (42%), followed by Navarra, Castilla la Mancha and then Aragón.

COMPANY REQUESTS

The main demands of logistics companies to respond to the traditional increase in consumption that occurs at this time will be packers, forklift drivers, warehouse workers and transporters, as well as professionals assigned to customer service to deal with the boom in e-commerce.

The retail sector, for its part, will reinforce its workforce with shop assistants, stewards and commercial profiles, mainly, among whom close contact with customers and communication skills are valued. Both for the logistics and retail sectors, companies increasingly value candidates with digital skills and knowledge of platforms as a result of the increase in electronic commerce.
