The 11 winners of this year’s Michelin Stars were recognised on Tuesday by the Government of Aragon. In this regard, the president of the Aragonese Executive, Jorge Azcón, has assured that this international award emphasises that “gastronomy and tourism are a fundamental part of our Autonomous Community. “When excellent work is done, people come on their own,” he said.

Among the winners are three new establishments : Ansils, in Anciles; Casa Arcas, in Villanova; and La Era de los Nogales, in Sardas. These new Michelin Stars have been trained in culinary schools in the Community and their establishments are located in municipalities with fewer than 200 inhabitants, which, for Azcón, means that “betting on quality hospitality and tourism is a hope.”

These new establishments join others such as Lillas Pastia and Tatau Bistro, in Huesca; Hospedería El Batán, in Tramacastilla; Canfranc Express, in Canfranc; Callizo, located in Aínsa; and Cancook, Gente Rara and La Prensa, in Zaragoza; consolidating Aragón as an essential destination for lovers of haute cuisine.

HUESCA, THE PROVINCE WITH THE MOST MICHELIN STARS PER POPULATION

“The hospitality sector contributes 5% of our GDP. It is an extremely important economic sector. The emblem of this sector are the 11 restaurants that have a Michelin Star in our Community. What your work shows is that when there is something that is special , people, the consumer, the tourist, are willing to go wherever it takes to discover that Michelin Star,” Azcón said.

Seven of the Michelin Star restaurants in Aragon are located in the province of Huesca , which makes it the Spanish province with the most Michelin stars per population. “High quality gastronomy is experiencing exponential development in the province. The Administration has to be awake and see what is happening, we have to redouble and support the province of Huesca in this magnificent work that is being done for the hospitality industry,” added the leader of the Executive.

GASTRONOMIC AGENDA OF ARAGON 2025

The Gastronomic Agenda of Aragon 2025 was presented during this event. This guide contains in its 250 pages recipes of Aragonese cuisine, gastronomic events, curiosities, popular festivals around gastronomy and information on seasonal products that can be found in the Community.

The Agenda is promoted by the Department of Environment and Tourism of the Government of Aragon and the Aragonese Academy of Gastronomy. As a novelty, this year a specific space has been included for the 11 Michelin-starred restaurants, with photographs of their respective head chefs and a brief text about each one.
