The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez , has boasted about the multi-million euro agreement between Stellantis and the Chinese company CATL to install the electric battery gigafactory in Figueruelas . The president has assured that the country is already a destination for multi-million euro bets in strategic sectors such as the automobile industry, which allows families to increase their purchasing power.

The national leader, who has assessed the growing confidence of foreign investors in Spain as very positive, has estimated it at 16% more than before the pandemic . In this regard, the leader of the central executive has justified himself with the investment of 4.1 billion in Zaragoza . “In addition to creation and reindustrialization, there is territorial cohesion by betting on cities that perhaps did not have the presence they deserved, as is now the case of Zaragoza,” said Sánchez. “The macroeconomy is improving people’s lives and purchasing power has increased by 6% since Covid,” he added.

LAST COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

Pedro Sánchez appeared this Monday after the last Council of Ministers of 2024 in which he focused on the DANA and the necessary reconstruction of the south of the province of Valencia but in which he also took the opportunity to highlight “the good work” of his executive in the economic field. In figures, he assessed that Spain is the country that is growing the most among the main economies of the West and that, compared to Europe, Spain is on the rise despite the uncertain and complex context that is experienced globally. “We have tripled the growth rate of the EU and we are systematically exceeding expectations. The data comforts and reaffirms us,” declared the leader of the central government.

The leader of the central government has also maintained that the country is heading towards 2025 as a promising economy and has argued that the key to success is the good management of the European Next Generation funds, the increase in production among companies in the technology sector and the increase in export capacity by up to 40% in recent years. “We are the main European export economy today, ahead of Germany,” said Sánchez.
