Turismo de Aragón has announced the tendering of the restoration and conservation works of the emblematic Monastery of Rueda, in Sástago (Zaragoza), with a total budget of 252,619 euros. The works, which are part of the Xacobeo National Tourism Plan 2021-2022, seek to ensure the conservation of this Cistercian monumental complex, considered one of the most important in Europe for its historical and architectural value.

Interested companies have until January 9 to submit their bids. The project is divided into two main lots:

the rehabilitation of the roof of the old inn, at a cost of 135,673 euros, and the structural reform of the  external corrals, assigned with a budget of 116,946 euros. The execution period will be three months for each lot.

The Monastery, owned by the Autonomous Community of Aragon, is known for its rich history, ranging from the Cistercian style of the 12th and 13th centuries to Renaissance, Baroque and Mudejar elements. At present, the guest house, part of the Aragon Guest House Network, remains temporarily closed, awaiting the completion of these renovations, which are scheduled to reopen next year.
