Azcón announces a new multi-million dollar investment “in just a few days”

The president has highlighted in Madrid the strengths of the Community to attract investments

The nearly 40 billion euros of investment that arrived in Aragon in 2024 are still lingering in President Jorge Azcón ‘s speeches , and the first major injection in 2025 seems to be just around the corner. This was acknowledged by Azcón himself, although he did not give more details, during an informative breakfast organised by Fórum Europa in Madrid, where he once again highlighted the Community’s potential to attract the arrival of new companies , especially in the technological field.

“ Until they are fully realized, it is not a good idea to get excited, but I am convinced that in a few days we will announce an investment of billions again,” Azcón stressed. The head of the Executive has also thanked the efforts of the Mayor of Zaragoza , Natalia Chueca , on her particular business tour of China “with fantastic news” on her return. “Today it seems that you are announcing an investment of one hundred million and it sounds minor, all are welcome,” he insisted.

During his visit to the capital, the president has emphasised the role of Aragon in two technological “disruptions” , such as, in his opinion, the transition to electric vehicles and the data centre industry and artificial intelligence. Azcón has brought up the names of Stellantis and the million batteries a year that will come out of the gigafactory when it is operating at full capacity and Amazon Web Services , the largest investor in the field of AI last year in the Community (13,000 million of the 33,000 from the ‘data centres’), Microsoft and Blackstone.

According to the DGA leader, this climate is fostered by several factors, although the balance is tipped by “the privileged location ” when it comes to producing energy from renewable sources. “It is possibly the most important raw material with which the data is fed,” Azcón continued. In addition, political and business “stability” comes into play , as well as “the fact that there is a Government willing to help and solve problems.”

Azcón has again urged the Spanish Government this Wednesday to increase investments in the energy transport network. “It is the economic leap that we need. We have very important investments knocking on the door just waiting for the Ministry and Red Eléctrica to multiply the investment,” he said. On the other hand, and without leaving the Ecological Transition portfolio, he regretted the paralysis of projects such as the enlargement of the Yesa , Almudévar and Mularroya reservoirs.
