Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced during the opening minutes of The Wave technology forum that its generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) service, Amazon Bedrock, is now generally available in the Aragon Cloud Region. It allows companies and organizations in Spain to develop AI applications more quickly and securely, while also benefiting from lower latency (response time) by having data closer to end users. Until now, they had to connect to other, more distant regions.

According to AWS, the Amazon Bedrock platform facilitates access to advanced generative AI models. Through it, customers can use models like Amazon Nova, designed for text, image, and video generation in more than 200 languages, thus opening up a wide range of opportunities for sectors such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

“Artificial intelligence is changing medicine, education, agriculture… It’s transforming businesses and the ways we help citizens. It’s an opportunity to change people’s lives ,” said Sasha Rubel, Head of Public Affairs for Generative AI at AWS, from Zaragoza.

“IT’S TIME TO DEMOCRATIZE AI”

AWS has commissioned Sasha Rubel to announce this news, which reinforces Jeff Bezos’ company’s commitment to the data warehouses located in the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca as key infrastructure for the technology subsidiary’s project.

“ It’s time to democratize AI. All organizations will be able to implement it with AWS technology. The future is technology-enabled and human-centered,” said Amazon’s Head of Public Affairs from the Palacio de Congresos Auditorium. “ We help companies of all sizes innovate, improve productivity, and create new solutions,” she added.

During his presentation, Rubel also emphasized that the public sector must lead the way toward AI. “Let’s unlock the potential of AI in Europe. Five companies every minute are adapting. 42% of companies already use it, and 90% report significant benefits ,” he argued.

AMAZON NOVA

Amazon Bedrock will include the following Amazon Nova models: Amazon Nova Micro, a text model that delivers the lowest latency responses at very low cost; Amazon Nova Lite, an ultra-low-cost multimodal model that is lightning fast at processing image, video, and text inputs to generate text output; and Amazon Nova Pro, a highly trained multimodal model with the best combination of accuracy, speed, and cost for a wide range of tasks.

These models support more than 200 languages, text, image, and video refinement, and easy integration with your own data and applications through Amazon Bedrock features. All are fast and efficient and designed to be easy to use with your customers’ systems and data.
