The opening of Zaragoza’s largest Starbucks on Paseo Independencia is a frenzy

The third location of the American chain opened its doors this Wednesday at Paseo Independencia, 24, in the former location of Italian Ice Cream

There were gifts for the first 100 customers, and as is customary with every opening in the Aragonese capital, long lines formed from the very beginning. Dozens of people crowded this Wednesday outside the new
Starbucks in Zaragoza, which, located at 24 Paseo de la Independencia, has become the largest in the entire city.

Those who lined up early enough and made it to the first 100 received a special gift: a welcome kit that included, among other gifts, an illustration by Zaragoza-based artist Ignacio Ochoa. The artist was also present at the opening, signing this unique and limited edition. In his creation, the Zaragoza-based illustrator depicts the popular Starbucks mermaid perched above the city, reflecting the connection between the brand and the Aragonese town.

On this opening Wednesday, all proceeds from the American chain’s Frappuccinos, chai tea lattes, and other specialty coffees will be donated entirely to Asapme, the Aragonese Association for Mental Health. Specifically, the proceeds will be used to find a safe environment where these individuals can socialize, undergo their rehabilitation and treatment processes, and engage in various recreational activities.

“We want to express our deep gratitude for Starbucks’ contribution and support. Every day, a helping hand bridges the gap between the counter and another hand, reaching out to deliver a cup, establishing a connection. We feel strongly about the association, because, like the brand, we also reach out and make our work available to a group of people with mental health issues, seeking their full rehabilitation and social integration,” says
Ana López, manager of Asapme Aragón.

Once inside, the cream and tan colors and the chain’s signature green reflected a similar image to the other two Starbucks stores in the city. However, customers were able to notice that this is the largest in the Aragonese capital. The establishment has two floors: the ground floor with the order counter and a ground floor with tables and chairs.

Starbucks has also maintained its menu at this location. Here, you can find everything from specialty coffees that vary depending on the season to teas and iced beverages. They also offer food, including cinnamon rolls, brownies, and cupcakes, as well as bagels, sandwiches, and croissants.
