Stellantis Zaragoza receives an additional 81 million in aid for the electrification of the plant

This was confirmed this Friday by the Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereu.

The Stellantis plant in Figueruelas will benefit from a new wave of millions from European funds for its 
electrification . The Minister of Industry in the Spanish Government , Jordi Hereu, announced this Friday during his speech at a forum the provisional award of PERTE VEC III, with 31 new projects from 22 companies.

The Zaragoza factory is the largest beneficiary of this call, with a grant of €81.79 million of the €215.9 million awarded. This complements the € 133 million previously awarded to Stellantis Zaragoza under the PERTE VEC III project for the A battery line and the €14 million  for the decarbonization project. Furthermore, the total amount of European grants for the automotive giant’s development in Zaragoza now exceeds € 350 million across its various PERTES projects. 

The PERTES guarantee our future and are a major European policy. Stellantis Figueruelas, the group’s most competitive plant, receives more than 80 million euros in grants and loans. We transform large, medium-sized, and small companies throughout the country,” Hereu emphasized at the European Funds V event organized by eldiario.es.” These are calls for proposals for the entire ecosystem. We face many challenges, but we are in the midst of the transformation process . We have talent and other elements that make us one of the major industrial hubs in Europe,” the head of the sector emphasized. 

OTHER GRANTORS 

A total of €148.9 million in grants and more than €67 million in loans have been approved. In addition to Stellantis, another Aragonese company is also a beneficiary: Mann Hummel Ibérica, with €3.41 million . The remaining funds are as follows: 

Benteler Automotive Vigo (Pontevedra) with €1.95 million; Volkswagen Navarra (Pamplona) with €3.55 million; Spool Sistemas (Guipúzcoa) with €895,170; Rovalma (Barcelona) with €4.36 million; Exide Technologies (Ciudad Real) with €11.51 million; Yuneng International Spain (Badajoz) with €23.40 million; Desay Spain SL (Jaén) with €4.73 million; Gestamp Vizcaya with €9.26 million; Teknia Ampuero (Cantabria) with €1.60 million; Gestamp Vigo (Pontevedra) with €890,223; Ebro (Barcelona) with €25.15 million; Iveco España (Madrid) with €11.84 million; Gestamp Servicios (Vizcaya) with 5.57 million euros; Cabka Spain (Valencia) with 294,649 euros; Powerco Battery Spain (Valencia) with 19.81 million euros;  Passion Motorbike Factory (Seville) with 766,181 euros; Bosch Service Solutions (Valencia) with 2.66 million euros; Moldeados Técnicos Plásticos (Burgos) with 465,009 euros; Integralia Movilidad (Navarra) with 1.15 million euros; and Himoinsa (Murcia) with 1.36 million euros.

LINE B OF PERTE VEC III

Line B of the Spanish Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan for the Connected Electric Vehicle III focuses on 31 projects from these 22 companies linked to the industrial value chain of the electric  and connected vehicle, its systems, subsystems and components, in addition to certain auxiliary infrastructure systems necessary for its deployment.

During his speech, Minister Hereu announced that his department has already paid more than €5.742 billion of the European funds it manages. He also specified that the Ministry of Industry and Tourism has already awarded more than €3.2 billion through the industrial PERTES (Pertes for Industrial Development) for these strategic projects, which are consolidating Spain’s position as a leading industrial hub in Europe.
