The prestigious National Geographic magazine has published in its April issue, “A Window to the Jurassic”, a report that extracts the exclusive event held in conjunction with Dinópolis and Turismo Aragón, which more than a hundred subscribers of the publication were able to enjoy.
The RBA auditorium in Barcelona went back 150 million years to learn more about the largest dinosaur in Europe, Turiasaurus riodevensis, and other paleontological treasures from the province of Teruel, thanks to the conference given by the managing director of the Dinópolis Foundation, Alberto Cobos.
The article on the event also reports on the presentations by Gonçalo Pereira, director of National Geographic Spain and Portugal, and Javier Lobón Rovira, biologist and photographer, authors of the text and photographs of the article in the September 2024 issue of the magazine on Turiasaurus (including the cover) and the importance of Dinópolis as a driving socio-economic project.
The dinosaur of Teruel “walked” around the room, not only through the testimonies of the three speakers, but also thanks to the impressive replica of the leg, more than three meters long, of this dinosaur, which together with its skull on the stage and the corporeal of its head welcoming the attendees in the hall of the building, gave a good account of its dimensions and importance as an ambassador of Dinópolis and Teruel.
A destination province for all dinosaur and paleontology lovers, and one of the main tourist attractions in the province of Teruel, thanks to its vast fossil wealth and the research, conservation and dissemination work carried out for 27 years by the Dinópolis Foundation, which has been enjoyed by more than 3.8 million people since 2001 through Dinópolis and its headquarters.
