The Huesca route where you can admire cherry and almond trees in bloom like in the Japanese “hamani”

“Hamani” is a Japanese word that literally translates as “admiring flowers. Japan boasts the most beautiful landscapes straight out of a fairy tale, where almond and cherry trees are tinged with pink. But you don’t have to go far to see them, as there is a town in Aragon whose routes are just as good as the Japanese “hamani.”

This is Fraga. Every year, the town in Huesca offers routes to welcome spring with the flowering of different fruit trees that leave unique images in the territory. The town of Bajo Cinca has established itself as a tourist reference for those who want to connect with nature while admiring a beautiful landscape.

The VIII Ruta de la Floración will take place on March 16 and is free, although there is limited capacity so it is necessary to register in advance at https://reservas.fraga.org/. Registration has opened today and will continue until March 12. During the route, participants will find waypoints marked with QR codes with information about the flowering and the surroundings.

The route is made up of three types of routes adapted to different types of modalities: a long walking route of 15 kilometres, a short one of 9 kilometres and another by bicycle also of 9 kilometres. The starting point of all the routes is the area of ​​the Fraga courts and all of them end at the municipal swimming pools. The longest walking route starts at 8.30 am, the short one also on foot between 9 and 9.30 am and the long bike route from 10.00 to 10.30 am.

During the month of March, Fraga’s flower fields are also transformed by the event “Music among the flowers”, where students and professionals from the town’s conservatory perform songs in a natural setting surrounded by flowers.
