Not just one, but two. Zaragoza Airport has reaffirmed its position as the Best European Airport in the category of fewer than two million passengers, having obtained this award in 2018. This title was awarded in the
ASQ (Airport Service Quality) awards granted by the Airports Council International (ACI) and primarily recognizes the quality of service that the Zaragoza airport offers its travelers every day through its flights. Zaragoza Airport management will travel to Guangzhou (China) to receive its award at the corresponding awards ceremony, which will be held from September 8 to 11, 2025.

For Zaragoza Airport Director Ricardo López, “the ASQ award for best airport in our category reflects the commitment of Aena and the other companies and airlines operating at Zaragoza Airport to improving the experience of our users and customers.” “Winning the award in 2018 and winning it again this year is proof of our constant effort to progressively improve the quality of service at the airport and encourages us to continue working every day,” he continued.

In total, Aena has received 13 awards for nine of its airports. In addition to Zaragoza Airport, the airports of Palma de Mallorca, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, El Hierro, Girona-Costa Brava, Pamplona, Reus, and Seville have received the award for best airport in Europe in its category; Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport is the winner in the category of Airport with the Most Dedicated Management in Europe; El Hierro and Pamplona airports have received the award for Cleanest Airport in Europe. El Hierro has also repeated as a winner, having taken a second award alongside Pamplona Airport in the category of Airport with the Greatest Ease of Travel in Europe.

This award, granted twice to Zaragoza Airport, is based on the results of surveys from the international ASQ program on passenger service quality perception, developed by ACI. ASQ surveys are conducted directly with passengers, who respond to questionnaires assessing a range of areas, including: facilities, customer service (passengers and airlines), security, environmental awareness, operations, and external and institutional relations, among others.

WHAT IS THE ASQ PROGRAM

These awards are part of the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Program and demonstrate the efforts made by airports to improve quality standards, both in their facilities and in the services they offer to passengers and airlines.

The ASQ program is a global benchmarking scheme for the airport industry that allows the service offered at each airport to be tested and compared with similarly sized infrastructures around the world.

These awards are based on the results of ASQ surveys, which are conducted as part of this program to measure passenger perceptions of service quality through questionnaires assessing their airport experience in relation to aspects such as access, facilities, staff friendliness, safety, and wait times at security.
