The Ibercaja Foundation presented its 2025-2027 Strategic Plan this Wednesday , allocating up to €150 million for the three-year period. The focus is on 2026, a year in which the current fiscal year’s budget will double in celebration of the Savings Bank’s 150th anniversary, which will be celebrated on May 28th. However, there will be activities throughout the year.
The Foundation’s general manager, José Luis Rodrigo, outlined the various strategic lines that will define the roadmap for this period. The celebration of the 150th anniversary represents, as stated, “a turning point and a key moment” for the Ibercaja Foundation to continue its growth and consolidation as a national benchmark.
“There will be activities at Mobility City, in education, in social action… We’re going to double the budget. It’s a very ambitious plan, and 2026 will be a leap forward with a number of very important activities . All Aragonese will feel very proud,” Rodrigo emphasized.

Support for the Technology Hub and the Promotion of Mobility City
The ” technological hub that is becoming established in Aragon ” will be strengthened through the Ibercaja Foundation Campus as the reference point where companies can develop high-impact training for executives and professionals from different business sectors. Furthermore, the organization will continue its work to bring financial and digital knowledge to the entire population and promote it , with various national programs aimed at both schoolchildren and adults.
On the other hand, it has been assured that Mobility City will continue to be the leading space where public and private institutions meet to discuss and disseminate information on sustainable mobility of the future, the fundamental concept that unites all the initiatives developed in the bridge pavilion. It has been argued that activities, forums, and conferences will be held, which together generate an ecosystem in which mobility, the cities of the future, and sustainability will continue to be key elements.
150th Anniversary and the Goya Museum
Without a doubt, the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the savings bank’s founding will be a major milestone for the Ibercaja Foundation. This significant date, 2026, will be reflected throughout the year in a comprehensive program of cultural and social events held in the bank’s various areas of operation.
In this sense, the figure of Francisco de Goya will be key. The dissemination of his work and image takes on, if possible, even greater importance within this Strategic Plan with the opening of the Goya Museum in 2026, following its expansion . This project, a union of art, architecture, and heritage, is destined to be one of the cornerstones of this anniversary. Rodrigo announced to the media that its opening is scheduled for October . “It’s going to be spectacular,” he assured.
In this regard, it has also been announced that the Foundation will relocate the Larrinaga Palace as an exhibition hall and is seeking to convert the Huarte Palace ( Zaragoza ‘s provincial archive ) into another museum space. This will depend, in this case, on the Ministry and the Government of Aragon finding a new location.
BUILDING A BETTER SOCIETY
Ultimately, the main goal is to build a better society, offering more opportunities for people to develop personally, socially, culturally, and educationally. Hence the commitment to increasing aid to social organizations, with special attention to children, the environment, and support for medical research in Aragon.
Thus, and for the first time this year, four social initiatives will be launched : child support, environmental protection, NGO digitalization, social projects, and international cooperation. Furthermore, over the course of these three years, the company will seek to promote corporate volunteering, involving the company’s employees in the various social initiatives carried out each year.
PRESENCE IN OTHER TERRITORIES
The non-profit organization will also continue and increase its activities in its home territories, such as Aragon, reaching not only the provincial capitals but also the various municipalities of Huesca , Zaragoza, and Teruel ; La Rioja, Guadalajara, Madrid, Andalusia, and the Mediterranean region.
