Thirteen Aragonese companies are exhibiting at Bauma (Munich, Germany) at the leading construction trade fai. They are doing so in collaboration with Aragón Exterior (AREX), marking the first time this public company has supported Aragonese exhibitors at this international fair.
The fair, the world’s largest for products such as machinery, materials, vehicles and construction equipment, is beyond comparison: it is held only once every three years, but it lasts for 7 days and has a total of 18 themed pavilions, as well as 414,000 m2 of open-air exhibition space for machinery.
Some 500,000 visitors from around the world are expected to attend this year’s fair, which features 3,227 exhibitors from 60 different countries. As an international meeting point for the industry, Bauma is not only a showcase for the latest technologies but also a platform for professional dialogue and debate on key future issues in what is the world’s largest industry.
THE PRODUCTS
Among the products and services exhibited by Aragonese companies at the fair are cranes, conveyor belts, concrete vibration machinery, scaffolding and formwork, equipment for demolition and earthmoving, automation solutions, materials, drilling equipment, and glassware for construction vehicles.
“The construction sector in Aragon, especially with regard to machinery, vehicles, and equipment, stands out for its innovative capacity and growing international reach. It is consolidating its position as a benchmark for quality and competitiveness in the main European markets. For us, it is very good news to be able to support companies in the sector at this fair, which can open doors for them all over the world,” emphasized Javier Camo, managing director of Aragón Exterior (AREX) .
AGREEMENT WITH ANMOPYC AND SITUATION OF THE SECTOR
AREX and the Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Machinery for Construction, Public Works, and Mining (ANMOPYC) further strengthened their relationship in 2024 by signing a collaboration agreement. Both entities are clear about the need to increase support for Aragonese companies, with the aim of promoting actions that drive internationalization and increasing the competitiveness of Aragonese companies.
The construction sector is undergoing a profound transformation , leading it to become increasingly industrialized, efficient, and sustainable. New technologies are being adopted throughout the value chain, from building design, construction methods (with new modular and prefabricated models), and the machinery used, to the use of increasingly environmentally friendly materials. Robotics and automation applications are also increasing the sector’s productivity.
