The city of Zaragoza will carry out an intense tourism promotional campaign this coming autumn in various cities in France with the aim of continuing to increase the number of French foreign visitors (17%) in Zaragoza, this was announced by the Zaragoza City Council this morning. at the Zaragoza Tourism Visitor Center.
This promotion seeks to “take advantage of the Ave route that connects Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona with several cities in the south of France until reaching Marseille ,” indicates the Minister of Education, Culture and Tourism, Sara Fernández. These are Marseille, Aix en Provence, Avignon, Nimes, Montpellier, Narbonne, Perpignan and Toulouse.
This is a campaign made up of different media and actions to “make the attractions of our city known to the neighbors in an intense and specific way ,” adds the counselor. The objective is that a good part of the tourists who use the AVE line to visit Barcelona or Madrid, are “tempted to visit Zaragoza and our monuments and realize that the city deserves a visit of at least one day”, expresses Vox councilor Julio Calvo, the municipal group that proposed the campaign.
Tourists from the neighboring country occupy first place in the ranking of international travelers arriving in Zaragoza. Last year, a total of 55,965 French people visited the city , representing 17% of foreign tourists, and made 89,675 overnight stays, surpassing those of 2019. The majority of French people come from the Occitanie region (28%). , from Pau and Bordeaux (24%) and from around Marseille (6%), according to data from queries made at tourist offices.
DIGITAL POSTERS, DRAWINGS AND FESTIVALS
Within a budget of 60,000 euros, Zaragoza will carry out an “intense” promotion of the city in several French cities, including Montpellier and Marseille, during September and October . The actions include promotional campaigns with digital mupis with the image of Zaragoza, videos on digital media and information points at train stations, as well as advertising in digital newspapers.
Between September 21 and 25, a campaign will be launched in Montpellier on twenty digital media and an information point will be placed at the Montepellier Saint Roch station with two counters, where, with a large background image of the city, it will be offered information in the morning and afternoon. In addition, a raffle will be held for a stay in Zaragoza with round-trip tickets among those who wish to participate. Also in Montepellier, at the end of the month, another information point will be set up at the International Festival of Travel and Adventure Films, which is attended by around 40,000 visitors every year.
Likewise, in Marseille, an advertising campaign will be deployed with a short video of Zaragoza on 35 digital media , which have a reach of five million passers-by, among other actions.
On the other hand, Zaragoza Tourism has participated in the second edition of the Occ’ygene Exhibition in Toulouse from March 1 to 3, together with the Government of Aragon. Furthermore, during the month of April, it was also present at the Ditex show in Marseille at the Turespaña stand and at the Fête des Voyages. Attendees have shown a lot of interest in the destination for its great cultural and monumental offering, and for being connected daily and directly with Marseille.
Likewise, Zaragoza Tourism will continue to collaborate this year with Renfe in receptive actions for professionals in this southern area of France. The first action will take place in June with the arrival of a group of bloggers from Occitanie.
