Green light for MotorLand to have a World Superbike event until 2027

This Monday, the Board of Directors of Motorland Aragón approved the contract for the celebration of the sporting event of the Superbike world championship during the years 2025, 2026 and 2027, an event that involves the payment of a fee of 550,000 euros per year and which It has a global impact, with its broadcast in 180 countries.

Since 2011, this event has been part of the Motorland sports calendar, which has contributed to the global promotion of the facility and the autonomous community. In this way, the circuit hosts the three most important motorcycle championships (MotoGP, WSBK and FIM Junior GP).

“By having already approved the three-year contract, we eliminate uncertainty and give stability to the circuit. It is a very important event for the image of Aragon,” said the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Manuel Blasco, who chaired the meeting. of the council, together with the managing director of the circuit , Jorge Panadés, and the mayor of Alcañiz, Miguel Ángel Estevan.

During 2023, this event involved the attendance of more than 29,000 people at the facilities , including the public, drivers, mechanics, teams, workers, journalists and staff of the organization and television signal promoters and an estimated economic impact of 3.7 million of euros.

In addition, the board has approved the increase in share capital for the celebration of the MotoGP championship for the year 2024 for an amount of 8,240,000 euros. It is worth remembering that the Aragon speed circuit will hold the MotoGP Grand Prix for the next three years thanks to the agreement reached between the Government of Aragon and Dorna for the community to host this event uninterruptedly during the years 2024, 2025 and 2026.

The green light has also been given to the installation of a plaque in memory of the Huelva driver Hugo Millán, who died in 2021 at turn 5 of the circuit, in the Talent Cup race of the FIM CEV Repsol.
