The company Inetum is settling in Walqa and will collaborate with AWS (Amazon Web Services) in the economic development and innovation of Aragon . The company will carry out consulting work in cybersecurity and cloud and will employ 16 people in the Huesca technology park.
The second vice president of the Government of Aragon, Mar Vaquero, and the president of the multinational Inetum, Jacques Pommeraud , have signed the contract for the installation of the multinational in the Walqa technology park . The new office is opening to carry out consulting work in cybersecurity and cloud and with this opening there will be 16 employees of the company in the Huesca park. After the signing, the company has signed an agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to carry out actions that promote economic development and innovation in Aragon .
The integration of Inetum into Walqa responds to the company’s purpose of promoting Cybersecurity and the Cloud , to offer consulting and training to companies (mainly SMEs) in the region, aligning with the strategy of the Government of Aragon and complementing its initiative to create the Aragon Cybersecurity Center .
The second vice-president and Minister of Economy, Employment and Industry, Mar Vaquero , has included this agreement in the objective of continuing to position our community as a technological hub. “When we talk about our position as a world reference, it is thanks to the strength of the entire territory as a whole with spaces in the three provinces that are neither contradictory nor exclusive, but all add up to make Aragon a recognizable territory in the sector,” she explained.
With this agreement, which guarantees the presence of Inetum in the Walqa Technology Park , the objective of “structuring” the three Aragonese provinces in the technology sector is being deepened. All this, because the Huesca space “meets all the conditions for the arrival of the most recognizable companies in the technology sector” and also “is generating a notable interest that is evident in the good news that we have recently learned.”
For his part, the director of Walqa, Carlos Ortas , has expressed his satisfaction with the company’s commitment to the park in Huesca: “We believe that incorporating a multinational such as Inetum into the park is a reinforcement of our commitment to consolidating Walqa as a focus of technological development for the entire community and will help us attract other projects,” he said.
Ortas also highlights the importance of Inetum carrying out cybersecurity consultancy because “it consolidates us as a benchmark in this area. We already have leading companies such as IriusRisk or the AST Security Operations Centre and the Aragon Cybersecurity Centre will soon be established here . Inetum strengthens our position in this field and in that of cloud technology.”
AGREEMENT WITH AMAZON WEB SERVICES
Reinforcing this same objective, Inetum and AWS have signed a collaboration agreement to promote economic development and innovation in Aragon, especially in the municipality of Huesca, taking advantage of the presence of both companies in the area.
The commitment includes fostering digital talent, the technological transformation of companies and public administration, and attracting investments. Both documents have been signed by the president of Inetum, Jacques Pommeraud, who has highlighted the value of the Walqa team. “We have created a very strong cybersecurity team at Walqa , which is the ideal ecosystem to bring Inetum’s purpose to life,” he said. Pommeraud announced that Inetum “wants to grow here and for our team to contribute to the digital impact but faster, easier and for the good of all, in Aragon, Spain and throughout Europe.
As the world increasingly moves towards cloud technology, we can help the Aragonese business community take a safe and productive leap forward by providing them with the best consulting and training in cybersecurity.”
For his part, the Head of Institutional Relations for AWS Infrastructure in Spain and Portugal , David Blázquez, welcomed “Inetum’s arrival at the Waqa Technology Park and, with this collaboration agreement, we reaffirm our commitment to Huesca and to the development of the local business fabric.”
Among other authorities, the visit was attended by the Mayor of Huesca and Vice President of the Board of Directors of Walqa , Lorena Orduna, and the President of the Provincial Council of Huesca , Isaac Claver.
