With the arrival of summer , and after a long year of work, we all look for a moment of relaxation on our days off. Reading is one of the most relaxing hobbies as well as stimulating for the brain . If you still haven’t chosen your book  for this vacation, here we bring you five bookstores in Zaragoza with lots of personality so you can find your ideal travel companion.

CALAMO BOOKSTORE

Located at Plaza San Francisco n.º 4, this independent bookstore has been operating continuously for over 40 years. With a “fun and different” book sale, Cálamo has two main objectives: “to sell good books”, carefully selected for its bibliographic collection and “to actively participate in the social and cultural development of Zaragoza”.

The Cálamo Bookstore has been in Plaza San Francisco for 40 years, distinguishing itself by the personalized treatment it provides its customers.

In the city, it has established itself as one of the most renowned bookstores in terms of awards, but also for its popularity among Zaragozans who love literature. One of its philosophies, in addition to social commitment, is what has made it so famous among readers, and that is that at the Cálamo Bookstore they strive to achieve
real and personal communication with the people who visit the establishment, doing everything possible to get to know them and advise them.

For their customers, in addition to the committed and personalized service, they offer some advantages such as their Cálamo Newsletter, the Cálamo Agenda, with recommended books, or the Impenitent Customer Card, not at all Impertinent , for the “friends” of the bookstore. In addition, they have occasionally held training courses and conferences in Spain and other countries such as Argentina, Peru or Mexico, among others.

If you are a member, all books are priced at 2.40 euros, but if you are not, you can buy them individually for four euros or take several, for six euros for two books or twelve euros for five units . And under the motto “there are always books read and to be read”, you can not only buy books, but also take the ones you have at home to sell them and give them a second life.

Here you can find a wide variety of books separated by sections and they have a language section where you can find international authors. In addition, they also have a shelf dedicated to the latest releases , so you don’t miss any literary news.

THE RED PANTHER

La Pantera Rossa is a social and solidarity bookstore located at San Vicente de Paúl No. 28. It opened its doors after the 2008 crisis with the philosophy of calling for “reflection and protest” and a sign announcing “soon opening due to crisis. ”

The shop, where they have only a few of the titles they work with on display, is a paradise for the youngest readers, who will be able to find a multitude of options to read during the holidays before the school year starts. However, if you are looking for a title that they do not have available, you can order books to order through their email address and they have the option of home delivery, with free shipping costs for orders over 50 euros.

ALBAREDA BOOKSTORE

Three floors of self-knowledge and self-help in the heart of the city. This is what awaits you at Librería Albareda, a center specialized in healing and inner growth with books as its central axis, located at Calle Albareda, No. 19.

Here you can find books related to self-help topics, but also spirituality and psychology. In addition, they have other items such as minerals and stones, Tibetan bowls, pendulums, incense or tarot cards.
