HIDDEN ZARAGOZA: MYTHS AND LEGENDS

When night falls, tourists and locals can walk through the streets of Zaragoza to learn a different view of the city’s history. With Spain Free Tours you can travel back in time to places such as Estudios and Órgano streets, Ignacio Jordán Asso and San Bruno squares, the Stone Bridge, the Pozo de San Lázaro and the Arco del Deán.

This free tour allows you to discover the city with the help of a local, Diego Labordeta. Operated by Zaragusta, this free tour promises to show the most emblematic places in the Old Town and to give a review of history from Roman times to the present day through art, culture and gastronomy. Tourists will visit distinguished places such as the Cathedral of El Salvador, the Pablo Gargallo Museum, Zaragoza City Hall, the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the Church of Santa Isabel de Portugal, Plaza San Felipe, El Tubo, the La Lonja Exhibition Hall, Alfonso Street and the Roman Theatre. 

  • Hours: Monday to Sunday at 10:00 in Spanish

FREE TOUR OF MODERNIST ZARAGOZA

Zaragoza also offers a guided tour to discover the traces of modernism in the city. The tour begins in Plaza Santiago Sas and continues along Calle Alfonso and Coso to visit places such as Casa Molins and Casino Mercantil, both buildings from the 20th century. Visitors will learn details about Pablo Emilio Gargallo Catalá and his relationship with Paris in the 1920s. They will continue to the Hotel Catalonia, the Mercado Central and the house of José Martí to analyse their architectural style. In Plaza del Pilar, they will discover the history of Asunción and Miguel, and explore the Ciclón passage. This tour will take you to the most bohemian and modernist corners of Zaragoza.

The tour covers different distinguished points of the city such as the Torreón de la Zuda, the Church of San Juan de los Panetes, the Church of Santa Isabel de Portugal, Alfonso I Street, the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the City Hall, the Lonja, the Goya Monument, the Stone Bridge, the Plaza de la Seo, the Cathedral of San Salvador, the Muro de la Parroquieta, the Roman Forum Museum, the Arco del Deán, the house of Captain General Palafox, the Plaza de Santa Marta, the Caesaraugusta Theatre Museum, Don Jaime I Street and the Plaza de España.
