It is one of the most prestigious choirs in the United Kingdom and has performed in countless places, although none more special than a 13th century Cistercian monastery. The Monastery of Piedra will host the concert of the choir of the New Hall School, in Essex, on Tuesday 22 October. The concert is free and will begin at 4.30 pm in the Abbey Church of the monastery. It lasts one hour.

New Hall School Choir has a long history and has had the honour of performing in other iconic venues such as the New Hall School Chapel, St Vitus Cathedral in Prague, St Peter’s Basilica in Rome and Westminster Cathedral in London. They have also participated in various television programmes, including several broadcast by the prestigious BBC in England.

This musical group, renowned for its versatility and talent, covers a wide repertoire that includes both classical works and contemporary compositions ranging from sacred to secular music. Among their most recent performances, the interpretation of Mozart’s Requiem at Chelmsford Cathedral, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Zimbe! by Alexander L’Estrange stand out.

The Piedra Monastery, and more specifically its Historic Garden Park, is one of the favourite destinations for visitors during this time of year, as the arrival of autumn brings about a spectacular transformation of the surroundings. The landscape, already impressive in itself, is tinged with amber, reddish and ochre tones, which delight those visitors who seek the tranquillity of a natural environment that is unique in our country and that has something different to offer in each season of the year.
