The Governing Council has approved the declaration of Autonomous Interest of the project for self-consumption without surpluses by the company Industrie Cartarie Tronchetti Ibérica in El Burgo de Ebro (ICT Ibérica). The project, carried out together with the Aragonese company Atalaya, will be developed in two phases that include a photovoltaic and wind power plant in order to be able to generate 58% of the company’s new electricity consumption and for this the company will invest around 60 million euros.
In the first phase of the so-called Royal Project, a photovoltaic plant will be built on land adjacent to the current facilities with a capacity of 4 MW. In addition, a wind farm with two turbines will have a capacity of 12 MW. In addition, a substation and an underground high-voltage line are included . In total, this first phase is expected to generate 43% of its current electricity consumption, and avoid the emission of some 10,000 tons of Co2 per year. In this first phase, it is planned to invest 16.9 million euros.
In the second phase, with an investment of 43.2 million euros, the renewable installation will be expanded to reach 18 MW of photovoltaic power and 30 MW of wind power, to self-generate approximately 58% of the new electricity consumption.
ICT IBÉRICA HAS THE CAPACITY TO PRODUCE 70,000 TONS
