The Government of Aragon’s commitment to modernising its image and promoting tourism as a key axis is reflected, in figures, in an increase in the resources dedicated to the stand at FITUR Madrid. An increase in space has been achieved compared to previous years by gaining height with spaces dedicated to experiences such as the balcony of the Pyrenees. The area has increased from 603 square metres in 2024 to 747 square metres in 2025, 24% more.

This increase is even greater when compared to the surface area that the Community had in 2023, which was 587 square metres. All of this has allowed the DGA, in this edition, to design three thematic areas that are united but differentiated, giving a leading role to HuescaZaragoza and Teruel.  This is exemplified by a drone-aerial vehicle with a virtual reality activity with views of the Basilica del Pilar representing Zaragoza; a Galactica planetarium for Teruel and a time arch, representing Huesca, which also has a high mountain viewpoint.

“UNPRECEDENTED” TOURIST DATA

The President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, has highlighted the importance of foreign visitors for the Aragonese tourism sector, an area of the economy that last year collected “unprecedented data” that reflect figures that are expected to reach 4 million visitors by the end of 2024. “This would be a historic figure, for the first time in history we would achieve this milestone,” said the DGA leader from FITUR.

In Aragon, tourism has grown by more than 5% in the last year, and by up to 12% in the case of tourism from outside Spain. This is why Azcón has shown himself to be positive and encouraged to “continue working on promotion”. Along these lines, the Aragonese president has announced that for 2025 the challenge is to increase the presence of European visitors, especially British, Dutch, German and French. “In 2024 we are focusing on Latin America and now we are concentrating on Europe . Projects such as the Pyrenees Plan, snowfall or the eclipse of 2026 invite us to be optimistic about the future”, said the highest political official of Aragon from IFEMA.
